(3/20/06)HouseOfMuscle.com -- Newsletter: Issue 33 ------------------------------------- 17-Methyl-dione Is Discontinued! -------------------------------------------------------------- Effective immediately the manufacturing process of the HouseOfMuscle.com supplement, 17-Methyl-dione, is discontinued. We have a very limited supply already manufactured, labeled and ready for sale. When this limited supply is gone we will no longer sell 17-Methyl-dione. So order quickly and stock up -- because when it's gone it's gone. The reason HouseOfMuscle.com has made this decision is based on a recent FDA warning letter sent to another supplement company. It is important to note that HouseOfMuscle.com has NOT received any warning about our product, 17-Methyl-dione. The action we are taking is completely voluntary and preemptive in nature to avoid any possible scrutiny from the FDA. The FDA recently issued warnings to manufacturers and distributors of two dietary supplements, stating that it believes these products should be classified as anabolic steroids and thus are controlled substances. One of the companies, Legal Gear, was warned about their trade-named product Methyl 1-P. The warning stated that Legal Gear must stop distributing and selling this product, or face regulatory action. As many of you know, HouseOfMuscle.com has always been at the forefront of sports nutrition. We have built a solid reputation for bringing legal, safe dietary supplements to market that are excellent alternatives to illegal anabolic steroids. After the pro-hormone ban in January of 2005, we went to work and came up with four great products that helped people build lean muscle and strength and are legal, safe alternatives to steroids. One of these products is 17-Methyl-dione. Many of you have used 17-Methyl-dione and experienced amazing results! Along with proper diet and exercise, 17-Methyl-dione helped take you to the next level. It was also a safe and legal alternative to anabolic steroids. Well guess what? If you haven’t already guessed, the active ingredient in 17-Methyl-dione is 17-hydroxy-6-alpha methyl-ethyletiochalon-3,20 dione and that long gobble gook of letters is also the main active ingredient in Legal Gear’s Methyl 1-P. My product is much less expensive than the Legal Gear version and thus a better value, but that is not the point here. Since Legal Gear has been warned by the FDA about their product, I think it behooves HouseOfMuscle.com, just as Legal Gear is doing with its product Methyl 1-P, to discontinue 17-Methyl-dione. If the FDA wants to call this a steroid, even though it is not (it is a metabolite of a progestin, thus it is anabolic, but it is not a steroid under the guidelines of the 2004 Anabolic Steroid Act), there is nothing I can do about it. Yes, it is a great product. It definitely promotes the building of muscle and strength, without any side effects I might add. But this is a game of politics and if the FDA wants to take this product off the market to make it seem like they are doing something about "the steroid problem", then that is just the way it has to be. These FDA warning letters are the latest chapter in a chain of events that started with a Washington Post article back in October. In the article, the writer claimed to buy five dietary supplements on the market that claimed to have muscle building qualities. One of these supplements was Legal Gear's Methyl 1-P. The writer then claimed to have sent the supplements to a doctor, who then tested the products to see what they were. Reportedly, in the doctor's opinion, all of these products were designer anabolic steroids. Designer meaning new steroids that were not yet know by the World Anti-Doping Agency, but yet were still anabolic steroids. After this Washington Post article was printed, Congressman Thomas M. Davis III (R-Va.) grabbed the ball. Davis, utilizing the growing media coverage of "the steroid problem", put pressure on the FDA to do something about what The Washington Post article claimed. By the way, Davis is also chairman of the Government Reform Committee on the regulation of dietary supplements that was spurred in part by The Post story as well as by the committee's year-long investigation of the steroid issue surrounding Major League Baseball. It is import to note that The Post story has NOT been verified. Simply based on the claims of one writer and a politician grabbing onto a hot issue the FDA decided to send out some warning letters to get Davis off their back. So that is how it works. Sorry to you guys who have bought and love this product. Like you, I am going to miss it. A lot of my current muscle mass and strength can be directly attributed to 17-Methyl-dione, but I don’t want to mess with federal law. Even though HouseOfMuscle.com has not been directly warned, I believe it is in our best interest to discontinue the product. As soon as my current limited supply is out, I will no longer be able to sell 17-Methyl-dione. No ifs, ands or buts about it, when our current limited supply is gone (and it is very limited) we will no longer sell 17-Methyl-dione. When news of this gets out, the price of this compound (again the main supplier has been Legal Gear Supplements, with the trade-name Methyl 1-P) is going to go through the roof. But I am going to take the high road again. Just like I did during the waning hours of the pro-hormone ban, back in January of 2005, I am not going to gouge my customers.
